Richard M. Amodei ’87, senior vice president for the STV Group, was named head of the northeast region of the transportation & infrastructure division, which includes offices in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Canada. Amodei joined the firm in 1999 and has been director of business development. He has more than 25 years of professional experience and he has been responsible for several multimillion and billion dollar projects. He serves as a board member for the American Public Transportation Association, ENO Center for Transportation, PenTrans (Pennsylvanians for Transportation Solutions) and the Southern New Jersey Development Council, and he is a also a member of the New Jersey Alliance for Action.
Jeffrey Beachell ’93, an investment officer and portfolio manager at Veritable LP, Investment Consultants, was named one of several vice chairmen for the board of directors of the Lenfest Foundation. He joined the foundation as part of a restructuring that will dramatically affect its leadership and mission and will effectively map out a path to its end. Beachell joined Veritable in 1993 and currently serves on its strategic investment committee, investment policy committee, executive committee and the operating committee.

Michael Appleby MBA ’90, senior vice president for quality and supply chain at QVC, spent five days in residence at his alma mater, Juniata College, sitting in on classes, advising students and holding mock interviews. Appleby also presented a public talk in the Neff lecture hall in the von Liebig Center for Science on the Juniata campus. He specializes in planning and supply chain management, and he has worked for QVC in various roles since 1987.
Scott A. Bailey MBA ’72 is a seasoned international and domestic traveler, wine enthusiast and food critic with over 40 years of travel experience for business and pleasure. He authored Vacations and Libations: Enjoy France and Europe “Our Way,” a summary of European travel notes and experiences of Bailey, his wife Melanie and his son Drew. David Barnes ’74, a glass artist who designs jewelry at WorkHouse Arts Center, was featured in an article from the Lorton Patch newspaper, from Lorton, Virginia about the art of fusing glass. Barnes’ jewelry can range from $45 to $200 and larger display pieces range from $125 to $4,800. Before he became an artist, Barnes spent his career at the Central Intelligence Agency as an auditor, financial manager, risk assessment manager and IT specialist.
Jim Bean ’91, former vice president of finance at Apple, has moved to the position of vice president of retail. Bean has been working for Apple for 15 years.
